Welcome to the Weymouth Early Childhood Center!

The Weymouth Early Childhood Center (WECC) is an integrated, tuition-based PreK program serving approximately 225 three- and four-year-old children from across the town, including students with and without special needs. Located in the newly renovated Abigail Adams building at 89 Middle Street, WECC provides a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment where young learners feel a sense of belonging and are supported in reaching their full potential.

WECC offers special education and integrated programming tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of each child. Community preschoolers participate as peer models alongside students with special needs, enriching the learning environment for all. Community peers are expected to be toilet-trained and demonstrate developmentally appropriate speech and language, social, and play skills.

Eligibility screening sessions for community peers are held each April. During the screening process, children spend approximately 30–45 minutes in the preschool setting, where they engage with a variety of teachers and related service providers. Staff observe language development, early academic readiness, social interactions, and gross and fine motor skills to determine program eligibility.

Our skilled and compassionate staff is dedicated to fostering developmental milestones, promoting a love of learning, and supporting each child’s growth and success. Through a strong focus on skill development and parent engagement, WECC values meaningful partnerships between families and educators to ensure positive outcomes. Together, we create a strong foundation for lifelong learning and prepare children for a successful transition to elementary school.
